Realizing its responsibility to society and in response to the Government's calls for energy saving and reductions in green house gas emissions, the Industrial Bank's Nanjing Branch has taken action in its promotion of “Green Credit” by using its power as a financer to support existing companies that are seeking to lower their emissions and go green. In this move, the highly innovative energy efficiency loans, the first of their kind in China , introduced by the IB in the second half of last year have been brought to Jiangsu Province. These loans will support local companies in their efforts to save energy resources and reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases and other harmful gases. The Nanjing Branch's efforts to finance in a more responsible way have been met with a large deal of praise in the media and in communities. A number of publications and television programs have offered significant coverage to the energy efficiency loans granted to the corporate sector by the Nanjing Branch of the IB, such as the Financial Tim es, Jiangsu New Space-time (Jiangsu TV), the Nanjing Daily and the Jiangsu Economic Report.
